DOSING PUMPS

GRUNDFOS dosing pumps are used for high precision dosing of liquids. The electrically driven diaphragm pumps are displacing liquids mechanically or hydraulically, dependending on the model.

Mounting is possible on horizontal and vertical surfaces too.

The “Smart Digital” range feature both manual and automatic control by contact signal (pulse) or analog signal (4-20 mA) as well as timer and weekly programmer. Stepper motor and special software control makes possible the precise dosing of difficult, degassing liquids too.

The capacity of GRUNDFOS dosing pumps varies from 0,3l/h to 8000l/h.

DISINFECTION WITH CHLORINE, SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE, CHLORINE DIOXIDE, UV

GRUNDFOS VACUUPERM systems operate on the indirect vacuum principle for dosing of chlorine gas, carbon dioxide, ammonia or sulphur dioxide.

Design variants: -compact installation with direct mounting on the gas cylinder, with maximum capacities from 40 g/h up to 2000 g/h. -modular installation with the possibility of supply from a 40 kg cylinder or from 600-800 kg containers, with individually adjusted multipoint injection and maximum capacities between 40 g/h and 200 kg/h. Both manual and automatic dose control is possible with adjustment based on flow, residual disinfectant concentration or other parameters. Essential elements of security for these systems are the gas leak detectors with visual and audio alarm as well as gas leakage neutralization systems.

Another ideal method to ensure drinking water disinfection is the GRUNDFOS OXIPERM system for the production and dosing of chlorine dioxide. Chlorine dioxide is highly effective against a large number of germs and has a long residual effect in the system. A great advantage of chlorine dioxide over other disinfectants is its effectiveness against biofilm that forms in time on the inner surfaces of pipelines and tanks. This is why it is widely used in fighting Legionella. Using chlorine dioxide as a disinfectant eliminates the risk of byproduct formation that could give water unpleasant taste or odor.

An ideal way to ensure the disinfection of drinking water is to use OXIPERM GRUNDFOS systems for the generation and dosing of chlorine dioxide. Chlorine dioxide is highly effective against all types of germs and has a long residual time in the system. The great advantage of chlorine dioxide over other disinfectants is its effectiveness against biological films (biofilm) that form over time on the surfaces of water courses. By using chlorine dioxide as a disinfectant, we also eliminate the risk of the formation of disinfection byproducts that would give the water an unpleasant taste or smell.

SITA and EUROTROL UV-systems use photooxidation by UV radiation as one of the most effective methods for water disinfection. The structure of DNA in bacteria or RNA in viruses is destroyed without the use of chemicals. Pathogens such as Cryptosporidium, Giardia, Legionella and Anthrax are destroyed by this method.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT AND CHLORINE GAS DETECTORS

Using protective masks with the appropriate filter cartridge is mandatory when working in a chlorine gas environment. DRÄGER safety equipment covers any need in the sector of water-treatment.

In dosing or gas generation rooms, the presence of a detection system can start the ventilation and/or neutralization of spilled or escaped gases. These sensors can be amperometric (Grundfos DIS-G) or potentiostatic (Grundfos DIA-G).

DOSING OF POWDERS: FLOCCULANTS, COAGULANTS, MILK OF LIME, etc.

Grundfos systems for preparation of solutions or suspensions are mostly used in the water treatment industry.

The capacity of these systems is of the order of cubic meters/hour.

Prepared solutions can be diluted with the help of optional equipment.

Grundfos dosing spirals can be used for the precision dosing of powders.

Control of dosing can be manual or by otside signal from, for example, a flowmeter.
